A Loyalty Program for Restaurants and Cafes
Loyalty rewards built into the till, not bolted onto it. Your customers earn rewards on every channel and spend the same balance wherever they order next — with no plastic card to carry and no app to download.
You choose how points are earned, what they are worth, and what they cost your restaurant. The settings screen works the cost out before you save it.

In three numbers
of rewards, earned and spent on every channel you run
customers join by ordering, not by signing up
by what they spend, or by what they order
What the loyalty program looks like to a customer
One customer, four weeks, and every channel your restaurant or cafe runs — on a single point balance that your customers never have to think about.
Scroll the timeline to follow her →
First order online
She orders pickup from your website and the welcome bonus lands on her first paid order.
She hears about it
The receipt shows the points. Nothing was signed up for and no card was issued.
A QR table on Saturday
She scans at the table. Same customer, same balance, nothing to log in to twice.
Coffee at the counter
Points earned at the till, on the same balance as the online order.
A double points day
You put double points on the pastries for the week. She notices.
She checks her balance
Signed into her account on your site, she can see what she has saved up.
A birthday email
The birthday bonus is added and emailed to her on the day.
She spends them
Points come off part of the bill at the counter, up to the cap you set.
And comes back
She is now in your customer list, not a marketplace's, and you can see her visits.
Two ways customers earn points
Most loyalty rewards programs make you choose a model before you understand it. There are two here and you run one of them — the system will not let both run at once, because a single sale would then earn points twice.
By spend — one rate for the whole venue. Set the points earned per dollar, and a minimum spend before an order earns anything.
By item — a set number of points on the dishes you choose. The price does not matter, so you can push a special or reward the coffee that brings people back.
A number on a category applies to every item in it, unless that item has its own.
Leave an item blank and it earns nothing at all.
It works out what your loyalty program costs you
A points rate and a point value are two numbers that look harmless on their own, and most loyalty software lets you save them without comment. Put the wrong pair together and you have promised customers more than the food is worth. Foodship does the sum for you, in plain English, before you save.
What customers get back
$100 spent earns 200 points, worth $2,000.00 — a 2,000% return to the customer.
That is unusually generous — worth checking the two rates above are the way round you meant.
On per-item earning it goes further and names the best and worst dishes on the menu: a flat number of points costs far more on a cheap item than on an expensive one, and the screen tells you which item is giving the most away.
You set what a point is worth, and the limits
Earning is only half of a digital loyalty program. The controls on spending are what keep it affordable on a busy Saturday.
What one point is worth, in dollars.
A minimum number of points before a customer can spend any.
A cap on how much of an order points are allowed to cover.
Expiry in days — or leave it blank and points never expire.
One balance, however the customer ordered
A loyalty program bolted onto one channel splits your customers in two, and so does a separate rewards app. Points here are earned and spent on the website, through a QR code at the table, at the kiosk and at the till — because it is all one system underneath.
Earned and spent on your online ordering system and at the counter alike.
The same balance on a QR code order at the table.
Online and QR orders match the customer automatically from their login.
At the counter, staff enter the customer's number on the restaurant POS and their point balance comes up.
Settings apply to the branch, across every channel it runs.
No plastic card, and nothing to download
Your customers join the loyalty program by ordering from you. There is no sign-up step to lose them at, no cards to print and reprint, and no app for anyone to install.
A welcome bonus lands after a customer's first paid order.
A birthday bonus is added and emailed on the day, once they have ordered.
Customers see their balance whenever they sign into their account on your site.
One switch turns earning and spending off across every channel, if you ever need it.
What the loyalty program actually did
Rewards you have issued are a liability until a customer spends them. The loyalty report shows both sides of that over any date range you choose.
Points earned, redeemed, bonus, expired, adjusted and reversed.
Gift cards issued, redeemed, refunded and still outstanding.
Any date range, and promo and coupon redemption beside it.
Download as PDF, CSV or XLSX, or have it emailed on a schedule.
Loyalty rewards for cafes and coffee shops
A cafe loyalty program usually wants per-item earning rather than per-dollar, and a cafe runs on regulars. In a cafe the rewards should follow the coffee, not the size of the bill — a flat white earns the same whether it is the only thing on the docket or not.
Points on the coffee rather than the dollar — rewards land where a cafe actually earns its customers.
Double points on the days your cafe is quiet, set per item and per day.
Digital rewards with no stamp card to lose, and no cafe loyalty app for anyone to install.
Cafes, coffee shops, bakeries and takeaways run the same rewards the same way a restaurant does.
A digital loyalty card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet
We are building a branded digital loyalty card that lives in your customer's phone wallet — a digital rewards card with your name on it, not ours. This section describes what is coming, not what ships today — everything above this box is available now.
Your branding
Set the colours and the logo on the card from your admin panel.
A code to join
Generate a QR code; your customers scan the code to register and add the digital card to their wallet.
Scanned at the counter
A scanner in the POS and ORA apps reads the code and brings the customer up — no number typed at the counter.
No app, still
The card sits in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, so customers install nothing of ours.
Want to know when the digital loyalty card is ready? Tell us and we will let you know.
Gift cards and promotions sit beside the points
Reward points are one of three customer incentives in the same module, sharing one customer list. You are not buying three products or reconciling three reports.
Gift cards
Issue and redeem gift cards, and see what is still outstanding on the same report as your points.
Promotions
Promo codes and specials, with redemption counts beside everything else.
A loyalty app bolted on, or a loyalty program in the till
Most digital loyalty products for a cafe are a separate rewards app with a separate customer list. The difference shows up on the second visit.
A separate loyalty app
- A second customer list that never matches the first
- Customer details typed into a second system that your till cannot see
- Points that only work on the channel it is wired into
- Another monthly bill and another login
- Paper cards that get lost, shared or faked
Points inside Foodship 360
- One customer record, and it is already yours
- Online and QR orders match the customer on their own
- One balance across website, QR, kiosk and till
- No extra bill and no extra login
- Nothing physical to lose
What else switches on beside the points
Each one shares the same menu, the same orders and the same customers. Turn on what your restaurant or cafe needs.
Loyalty program questions we get asked
A loyalty program gives customers a reason to come back by rewarding them for ordering. In Foodship it is reward points: customers earn on what they spend or on the items they choose, and spend the balance against a later bill. Because it is part of the till rather than a separate app, the points work the same online, at a QR table and at the counter.
No. Online and through QR they join by ordering and are matched by their login, with no sign-up step and nothing to print. At the counter a staff member enters the customer's number to put the order on their balance — the digital card in development is what will replace that step with a scan. Customers can sign into their account on your site to see their balance. A branded digital loyalty card for Apple Wallet and Google Wallet is in development and is not available yet.
Either by spend or by item, and you run one of the two. By spend gives points per dollar with a minimum spend to earn. By item gives a set number of points on the dishes you pick, whatever they cost, and you can run double points on chosen days.
You set what a point is worth, a minimum before customers can spend any, and a cap on how much of an order points may cover. The settings screen also works out the real return before you save — it will tell you plainly if a $100 spend would earn a customer $2,000 back.
That is your choice. Set an expiry in days, or leave it blank and points never expire. Expired points appear in the loyalty report so you can see what lapsed.
Yes. A cafe loyalty program usually works best on per-item earning — points on the coffee rather than the dollar — and that is one of the two modes a cafe can run. Coffee shops, bakeries and takeaways run it the same way a restaurant does.
The report shows points earned, redeemed, bonus, expired, adjusted and reversed over any date range, with gift card and promotion figures beside them. Export it as PDF, CSV or XLSX, or schedule it.
No. Reward points, gift cards and promotions are part of the platform. You switch them on in the admin panel and set your own rates.
Give your regulars a reason to come back
Send us your menu and we will show you what a loyalty program looks like on your own items — earning rates, what it would cost you, and what your customers see.
